The JJJ Award provides the recipient with a $700.00 cash award for any educational courses approved by the OPS. If the award will be used for the OPS’ Annual Education Program, in addition to the $700.00 cash award, the recipient will receive complimentary general registration, ten free course hours, three free workshops and recognition at the annual Awards Reception.

The JJJ Award is made from the Johnny Justice Jr. Scholarship Fund. The fund is supported by contributions and fund raising activities like the raffle held during the Annual Educational Program. The Johnny Justice Jr. Award was created by the Board of Directors of the Ophthalmic Photographers’ Society not only to honor its founder, but also to assist its members in their efforts to gain knowledge and experience in the field of diagnostic imaging.

Rona Esquejo-Leon- JJJS, 2007... "The JJJ Scholarship is a great source in assisting those in our field to attend innovating and educational lectures… especially those who don't have the financial support to pursue these educational endeavors. I have been an Ophthalmic Photographer for over 3 years and I can't express how important it is to attend these lectures. With technology advancing each day it is very critical to stay on top of the new equipment and techniques, and I was fortunate to have the JJJ Scholarship available to me in order to attend these great classes."

Rich Cornwell CRA, ROUB, COA, OCT-C, 2007... "I'd like to first say to the OPS and it's members how thankful I am for giving me the opportunity to receive this award. It gave me the chance to experience the educational rewards while meeting some of the great people that drive this awesome field. I was surprised to hear that so few people apply for this scholarship award and would encourage more people to do so. I've been in this field going on 4 years and I feel the educational programs put on by the OPS are superb and can help anyone from the novice imager to the seasoned expert learn new things. It also is a great time to pair taking a certifying exam for those that are working toward certification. All in all, the Johnny Justice Scholarship was really exciting for me and I think that would be the same feeling from anyone else in my shoes."
